During an LTx Treasure Hunt, I had received the clues: family with small children in a shopping cart, Wal-Mart, Kids wearing pink coats, and sickness in a child. Before we set out, Aaron Jaqua challenged us to pursue the Lord and see if there was something else that he wanted to give away that night. I felt like He wanted me to bless people at Wal-Mart financially in some way.
After a few encounters at Wal-Mart, Alex Benton and I both bought some gift cards to give away to people and split up to do so. At the very front of the store, leaving the store, I spotted all of my clues in one family and ran up to them as they were leaving. It was a married couple with two little girls in the shopping cart, both wearing pink jackets. As I began to talk to them about the reason they were the Lord’s treasure that night, I found out that one of the little girls had been diagnosed with a severe poisoning in her body. I prayed for her twice and then gave the family two gift cards, they both began to cry and said to their daughters, “now we can afford to go and buy you those winter jackets you need”. The father was moved emotionally by our gathering to pray and even made the comment, “hey didn’t the bible say that if two or more people get together to pray that the thing they are praying for will happen?”. We had a fun little talk about that and how the gospel moves in power.
Less than a week later, I received a call from the mother letting me know that their daughter was healed and feeling amazing, she was also tremendously impacted by the gift cards that helped them with winter coats/clothes. Another week later, I received a Christmas card and a thank you card from the family!
God you are GOOD!
