So I am elated to share this... the Lord has delivered me from my night torment. For the first time in over 10 years I am sleeping fear-free. Here's the part I am more excited about. Wednesday morning my daughter (4 yrs. old) woke up and told me how she had a very scary dream. She was even shaking a little bit when she told me. In the dream, my daughter and I are on our porch and there is a boy walking on the sidewalk. Then a witch comes up through the sidewalk. The dream really scared her. I knew this was a stake in the ground for our family, to declare the night as the Lord's and take back what the enemy intended for fear. I knew this was the moment when my daughter could walk in the victory the Lord had given me as her mommy. I told her how the Lord only has rest and good dreams for us. That any other dream that's scary is from the enemy. We talk a lot about how the Lord has given her a weapon (Holy Spirit, God's word) and she needs to use it whenever she is scared. So I told her she has the authority to tell the enemy to leave, in the name if Jesus. That there is power in the name of Jesus Christ. All she has to do is tell the enemy to leave, she can even yell at him, and ask the power of the Lord to come. "Okay mom. Got it."The next day she ran downstairs and yelled to me "Mama, I didn't have bad dreams. No witches or anything! Jesus kept me safe!"Amazing.
