Promises Fulfilled to My Family

For the past two and half years I have been praying for my brother who had walked away from the Lord. During one visit with him in Tulsa at Starbucks I was sharing testimonies of God's goodness but he seemed disinterested at best. At the end of the conversation he said, "Kelly, I know Jesus is real but I feel pretty disconnected and left behind." I shared some thoughts on where he was at and then asked to pray.

While I was praying for him I started seeing pictures of him leading worship in Africa started to prophesy his destiny in Africa and to the nations. He was thankful but didn't respond much.

Two years after that my family entered into a season of fasting and praying for him. We got word from family and friends that my brother was at his lowest point that he had been at yet. One morning while praying for him I the Lord spoke to me through a picture-- I saw a huge tidal wave about to sweep him away from a cliff, but at the last moment a hand grabbed the crest of the wave and 'slammed the wave into submission' (it looked like a wrestling move). I shared this with my mom and it brought us hope.

Three months after that word my brother was approached by a friend and missionary in South Africa who challenged him and delivered him a word about "his destiny in Africa." After a couple weeks my brother knew the Lord was speaking to him but didn't feel the faith for raising support to become a missionary as he was apart of no community and had been living apart from the church for several years. When we talked on the phone I felt the Lord tell me to tell him, "If you feel like God is telling you to move to Africa, then money won't be the issue. He'll provide." He sold all his possessions and began working double shifts to save up for his move. In his last week in the US he found out that someone had anonymously donated the amount of money need for him to live for 6 months abroad. He moved to Cape Town, South Africa and is about to begin a Church planting school with a missions organization called "All Nations."

Last night, on Christmas Eve, my brother-in-law and I talked to my brother about his journey. He started to tell us how desperate he had become for God and how He wanted the reality of the kingdom in His life. We share a bit of testimonies about God encountering us personally and then we asked to pray over him. We prayed and prophesied over him after which I heard with my own ears my brother's desperate cry to God for everything in his life to change, for him to taste of the reality of Heaven.

I am so thankful to the Lord for fulfilling His promises to my family over my brother and for His hope through prophetic words when it seemed like my brother would never come back to the Father. Praise Jesus!
