These procedures apply to any space where the people of Norman Community Church gather and when NCC provides workers to be with the children.
Safe Environment:
At Norman Community Church we create a safe environment by having each child worker professionally screened. We also “baby-proof” the areas where children are going to be watched. And for accountability, no adult is to be one-on-one with a child in an isolated space.
Check In Procedure:
Children’s workers will be ready for your children to be dropped off 10-15 minutes before each meeting. Check-in procedures will vary for each classroom and Missional Community.
Pick Up Procedure:
For security (especially applies at Celebration), only parents, guardians and family members (10 or older) with the security tag will be able to pick up a child.
Health Policies:
If a child has special needs, this should be communicated each time the child is dropped off since our child workers have a rotating schedule. This includes allergies and physical challenges. Parents are asked not to check sick children into a class. This includes symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, vomiting, congested cough, pink-eye and lice.
Discipline Policies:
We provide healthy boundaries for kids using a “Safe and Kind" policy for discipline.
Prophetic Words:
From time to time children will be given prophetic or encouraging words. These are delivered to the parent so that the parent can process and pray through that word. Any questions about the word should be directed to the person who gave it. If someone has a question about prophetic words in general, the missional community leader can answer those questions.
Medical Emergencies:
In the case of a medical emergency, parents and guardians will be contacted immediately. Under no circumstances will staff administer medication to a child. If a child requires medication, it must be administered by a parent or guardian.
