Hope

We all got our clues and decided to go as one big group to Walmart on the Eastside. I felt like the Lord wanted to invite people to step out in a way that's different than they ever have. One girl felt like she was supposed to give a gift to someone, and two guys both felt like God was asking them to be more bold. Five of us all had some sort of "financial need" clue.

A friend and I paired up because we had the same clue of "Hope". We went looking and found two clues "lawn chair" and "backpack" both on one aisle with a guy standing in the middle of the aisle. My friend walks up to the guy and says, "Excuse me, we were just at our church praying and asking God for clues of people that are on His heart so we can share the Kingdom with them" and the guy (Ryan)says a few times, "you gotta be kidding me". Then, with tears in his eyes he explains that he is at the end of his rope, doesn't know if he and his wife are going to make it, has four kids and is getting letters from DHS, unemployed because two discs in his back are injured. Wow that's a lot- My friend shared that we both had the clue "hope" and that this is the Advent week of Hope and I shared the phrase I had written down as one of my clues that someone was thinking "Am I going to make it?" Ryan teared up and said that this is amazing and he kept saying he couldn't believe that God would do this and send people to him. Ryan then explained that he hadn't been close to God but has faith. Then, Ryan asked us if we would pray with him (um, hello!) So, I shared that we have seen people miraculously healed, shared my testimony about God providing even when I lost my job, and that we felt specifically that night that God wanted to bless people financially. I told him if he had any needs we would like to help him with them. He didn't comment on the finance part but we prayed for healing, his marriage, family, provision, etc. We exchanged phone numbers and he put my friend and I in his phone as his "walmart angels" - haha! We told him that God was inviting him back into relationship and has been thinking about him. He was super touched and kept thanking us.

So, yesterday I get a voicemail from him. Ryan called to say thank you again for talking and praying with him. He said, "You have no idea what has happened since you prayed for me. You mentioned that God wanted to bless people financially. Well, my wife went to work and a woman gave her an envelope with $2,500 cash inside for our family to have a Christmas!" - I listened to the voice mail as I walked out of the Business College and all I could do was pump my fist in the air and almost start crying at out powerful God is!!!
